Hi friends,
I’ve been thinking a lot this week about something so many mothers quietly worry about — that moment your child does something new, unexpected, or strange… and your heart jumps.
A new tic.
A blink.
A shoulder shrug.
A sudden burst of attitude.
A meltdown that feels bigger than usual.
We immediately go into:
“What’s wrong?”
“Why is this happening?”
“Is this normal?”
“Is something wrong with me?”
But here’s the truth I wish every mother knew:
Kids rarely act “out of nowhere.”
There’s always a story behind the behavior.
Sometimes it’s tiredness.
Sometimes it’s overstimulation.
Sometimes it’s a developmental leap.
Sometimes it’s excitement, fear, hunger, change, or just plain growing up.
And sometimes… it’s nothing major at all.
A child blinking more?
It could be dryness, a habit, a phase, or a tiny stress signal.
Almost always → it passes.
But here’s the part that matters:
Your calm is their calm.
Your tone is their safety.
Your confidence becomes their confidence.
When you react with fear, they feel fear.
When you react with curiosity, they feel held.
So this week’s reminder from my heart to yours:
Pause before you panic.
Look before you label.
Breathe before you Google.
And ask just one gentle question:
➡️ “What is my child trying to tell me right now?”
You’ll be amazed how often the answer is simple, human, and fixable.
You don’t need perfection.
You don’t need a PhD.
You need warmth, presence, and a little bit of guidance — which is what we do here.
We’re going to grow together, learn together, and make motherhood a little lighter every week.
With love,
